More sketches for Momo-con in May!

WELL DAMN….

As many of you know, I upload patterns to spoonflower.com which people can order as fabric for various projects they want to make. The other day someone contacted me on spoonflower to ask if I would reupload my Aladdin pattern.

What? It should be there…. Low and behold, spoonflower deleted over half my patterns without notifying me. I got on the chat with the company this morning, and it turns out that Disney Enterprises issued a cease and desist on their copyrighted designs.

You know what? I completely understand that. These characters are not my intellectual property so I shouldn’t make a profit off them honestly. But what upsets me is that spoonflower never contacted me, never offered to make the designs private so that I could order them for my own personal use, they just completely deleted them.

They said I could contact Disney’s lawyers but I know there is no point in that. What makes me also frustrated is that there are HUNDREDS of other copyrighted designs on the site, that are still there.

I really wanted to make a purse and some pillows out of some of these designs. I wonder if there is a way to print on a home computer. I’m just really frustrated. Am I justified or should I just say lesson learned?

Honestly, I think you should charge $20 and up. These are beautiful full colour sketches, definitely worth a heck of a lot more. :)

What kind of medium do you use?? These look…

I am using different size micron pens for the lineart, then I spray it with a workable fixative, wait about an hour, then color with copic markers! Still learning…

I am planning on attending Momo-con in May 2015 in Atlanta. I have only been to one con before and that was momocon 2013. I’m really shy but I figured this is a good way to branch out. I am planning on doing a lot of little 8x10” copic sketches for $10-$20 bucks. What do you think? I’ll be doing other stuff too, but these don’t take long.
